Company Description

The North Shore Neighbourhood House's Edible Garden Project operates this half acre urban farm, Loutet Farm, on public park land.

It is a social enterprise, which means we are a charity running a business. Our goal is to 'break-even', but when we do make a profit it is re-invested into our programming to better serve the community.

We use organic practices, but we are not certified organic because of the limitations to becoming certified in an urban environment. We grow a mixed vegetable market garden, and employ one full time farmer year round. All of our produce is sold on-site at weekly Farm Gate Sales.

You can get involved! Volunteer with us on the farm or at Farm Gate Sales, bring your school or work team for a farm tour, or make a donation to our program. We hope to see you soon!
