Welcome to Joe’s on the Beach
Joe’s is a blend of our love of all things 80s, a breathtaking beach location, approachable food + drink and our very own brand of warm/cheeky Sunshine Coast hospitality.

This bustling neighborhood Restaurant + Bar is located in the newly branded Oceanside Hotel in Davis Bay. Joe’s is a new project from 2 locals, who live just a few blocks from Joe’s Josh King and Mariano De Barba. You’ll find them in Joe’s daily, so if you need anything just let them know.
When Josh was a teenager one of his first jobs was in a Pizza, Steak & Seafood house in West Vancouver called Palermo’s, owned by a wonderful Greek family they were like family to him. Many of their friends and family, owned similar places all over the city.

We wanted to pay homage to those buzzing local restaurants of the 80s and reimagine what they would be like today! Places like Colosseum Pizza, Nick’s Steak & spaghetti, Palermo’s, and many more, that offered great food, and wonderful hospitality and they were the hubs of their neighborhoods.
It was also important that we take into consideration the changing ways people eat by adding vegan, gluten-free, and lifestyle choices.
We also add a few things from our countries of origin as well as things we found in our travels.

We are a place where approachable food + drink is fresh and fun, seasonal events like “Now we eat Lobster”, “Da Boss Pizza Deal” as well other seasonal events, keep things interesting for the locals and guests.
The design is what we call a retro surfer shack meets the Pacific West coast. Its bustling and feels welcoming, the interior is bright and airy. Huge walls of glass on all sides, create on of the best views anywhere on the Sunshine Coast.
The painted pine paneling, walls of expansive glass, lofty ceilings, and vintage chairs hint at the nostalgic pizzeria. The industrial light fixtures, Joe’s Lounge, plus open & varied seating arrangements, are definitely of today.
While the wood-fired oven, the hand-stamped pizza boxes, and artful displays of tinned tomatoes, the upbeat tunes, read as flashes of color, excitement, and fun.
